Since ancient times small groups have been at the heart of the Christian faith.

Pastorates are integral to the life of St James, they are the main way of becoming connected and feeling part of the church so we encourage everyone to be part of one.

Each pastorate has its own ‘personality’ but in general they aim to meet fortnightly in the home of a pastorate member for food, fellowship, worship, Bible and prayer. The majority of pastorates meet in the evening during the week but there are also daytime pastorates including Focus, a women’s Bible Study with creche, that meets in church on a Thursday morning during term time.
